Helloserv's Outlet range gathers end-of-series dedicated servers (models replaced in our catalog), ex-demo servers or overstock that we discount heavily. You benefit from a discount of up to 40% compared to the catalog price of an equivalent server in the Performance or AMD range.
The underlying infrastructure (Tier-III datacenter, multi-carrier network, 10 Tbps+ Anti-DDoS, 24/7 monitoring) is rigorously identical. The only difference is the age or commercial lifecycle of the hardware.
Why are these prices so low?
Three reasons explain Outlet pricing. First, we regularly refresh our catalogs: older generations (Xeon E3/E5, Ryzen 5xxx, etc.) are discounted. Second, some servers are ex-demo or ex-benchmark units, used a few months internally then put back into production. Third, we occasionally benefit from opportunistic batches from suppliers (manufacturer returns, leases reaching term).
In all cases, each Outlet server is deeply tested (memory, drives, PSU, temperature under load) before delivery. In case of hardware failure, our team intervenes to restore the server as quickly as possible.
When should you order an Outlet server?
The Outlet is ideal when you have a defined but non-critical need: a test environment, a temporary build server, archive storage, a budget-constrained side project. If you're hesitating between a high-end VPS and a first dedicated server, the Outlet often offers a clear performance leap at a comparable price.
On the other hand, if you're hosting high-traffic critical production, prefer the Performance range or the AMD range which offer brand-new hardware and more recent hardware options. Later migration from the Outlet to another range is always possible.

Why are these servers cheaper?
They are mostly end-of-series units (models replaced in catalog), ex-demo servers or opportunistic batches. The hardware is often of a previous generation but perfectly functional and tested. You benefit from a discount of up to 40% compared to an equivalent server in the Performance range.
Is there a higher reliability risk?
No. Each Outlet server undergoes a full burn-in (memory test, drive test, CPU stress, PSU stress, thermal monitoring) before going into production. In case of hardware failure, our team intervenes to restore the server as quickly as possible.
If I order, will my server remain available for a long time?
Yes, as long as you pay your monthly fee, the server is assigned to you with no end date. However, if you cancel, it's possible that the exact model won't be available again (limited stock, precisely for this reason). If you have a long-term project, contact us to lock the config for 12 or 24 months.
Can I upgrade to another range later?
Of course. Migrating from an Outlet to a Performance or AMD server is possible at any time. Our team supports you: provisioning the new server, snapshotting and transferring data, reassigning the main IP (or additional ones), cleanly deprovisioning the old server. Simply open a support ticket.
